WHO WE ARE

Who we are

It's hard to tell us on a web page and the best way to get to know us will be to visit us, but let's try to describe who we are ...

THE FARM AND AGRITURISTIC COMPANY

The processed

For some years now we have been producing cooked white and black chickpeas in glass. This year we produce black chickpea crumble, much appreciated by cooks and vegans, as a healthy ingredient for velvety and salads, and chickpea and turmeric cream. 2019 will be an experimental year for beekeeping, but it is likely that by 2020 we will be able to market our honey, because we want to support our friends bees.

Agricultural production

The farm Moschella is first of all a farm for 4 generations, certified organic since 2017. The vocation of the territory is above all the wheat, which we still produce today, tender and hard, but for some years the company has started to specialize in legumes: the first chickpeas and recently also the lentils. The aromatic herbs are another typicality of the company: we offer organic oregano, but on request we can also supply laurel, rosemary and sage. This year we will do the first horticulture experiments , for personal use and to have fresh vegetables in our restaurant.

The restaurant

In our restaurant we use company raw materials and local productions from neighboring farms, such as the wines, aglianico del Vulture and Nero di Troia, the extra virgin olive oil from Puglia, the organic durum wheat pasta Senatore Cappelli ... We serve simple traditional dishes peasant but also refined dishes, always defending the principle of high quality.

A BIT OF HISTORY

Originally the farm was a resting place for transhumance, a post in which to rest, refresh men and cattle (in the large stable now restored to house the restaurant), wait for the dawn to get back on the road ... The great-grandfather Giuseppe came from Lavello every week on horseback, he left on Monday and returned on Saturday. He worked and loved this place. The farm was divided into three, between the brothers Vincenzina, Biagio and Angela. For many years the properties were rented or cultivated with wheat. Luisa, Angela's daughter, realized in 2015 the dream of opening the farm to the public, with the agriturismo. Unfortunately it failed in 2017.

MARIA AND ANTONELLA

Today are the youngest heirs, Maria and Antonella, who manage the farm in organic farming, innovatively cultivating ancient grains and legumes.

MANUEL AND DANIELA

I, Daniela, with my French husband Manuel, take care of the agriturismo. After spending almost 10 years in France together we decided to "return to the land".
